Animal Face x Granola Funk Peach Ozz
Balanced Hybrid
Bread N Butta Seeds
The story here runs back through Face Off OG, and it's a good one. In the late nineties somebody in Southern California pulled seeds off a hermaphrodite OG Kush, and a handful of them eventually made their way to Fletcher Watson—ThaDocta, who founded Archive Seed Bank up in Portland. He selected the number four pheno and spent years backcrossing it into something stable. Depending on who's telling it, the name comes from the Nicolas Cage and Travolta movie or from dealers facing off over whose OG was better, and the honest answer is that both versions have been around too long to settle. Either way that male became the backbone of a startling amount of modern American breeding. It arrives here through Animal Face, Seed Junky's Animal Mints crossed onto Face Off OG, which took first place indoor at the 2022 Emerald Cup. The other side is Bodhi's Granola Funk—named for a Rainbow Gathering bakery and responsible for the fresh-baked smell that runs through this whole family—worked into Peach Ozz out of Dying Breed. The nugs come small and tight, and the size is misleading: they're buried under so much resin the surface goes near-white, which is where the name comes from. Nose is old-school Kush, fuel and earthy funk with a doughy bready sweetness sitting underneath, myrcene leading and caryophyllene right behind. Exhale is that dough going soft and floral off the linalool before it finishes peppery. It lands fast and forceful, broad weighted pressure across the body while the head stays present rather than switched off, then holds a long flat plateau. Heavy-hitting but balanced. Evening roll, or a daytime one if the day isn't asking much of you.
